SouthAfricaInfo.co.za and the South Africa Travel Info YouTube channel are operated by Rate-IT cc (“we”, “our”, “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Information We Collect
Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. This collects anonymised data such as pages visited, time on site, and general location (country level). No personally identifiable information is collected.
Contact forms: If you contact us via email, we retain your email address and message to respond to your enquiry.
Cookies: We use minimal cookies — primarily for analytics. You can opt out of analytics tracking via your browser settings.
Affiliate Links
Some links on this site are affiliate links (Booking.com, Klook, and others). If you click these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These partners may set their own cookies.
AI Chat
Our AI chat feature sends your messages to the Anthropic API for processing. Please do not share sensitive personal information in the chat. Anthropic’s privacy policy applies to data processed through their API.
YouTube API Services
We publish our own travel videos to our YouTube channel, South Africa Travel Info, using YouTube API Services through our internal publishing tool. By using any YouTube features on or linked from this site, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
What we access: our publishing tool connects only to our own YouTube channel, with permission to upload videos and to read basic channel and video information. We use this to upload our videos and to read view, like and comment counts for our own videos, so we can see which topics are most useful. We do not access, collect or store data from other people’s YouTube accounts, and we never sell or share YouTube data.
What we store: an encrypted access token for our channel; the IDs, titles, descriptions and links of the videos we publish; and their view and engagement counts, which are refreshed daily.
Revoking access and deletion: access can be revoked at any time in Google’s security settings at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Disconnecting YouTube in our tool deletes the stored token and revokes it with Google. To request deletion of any YouTube-related data we hold, email hello@southafricainfo.co.za and we will delete it within 7 days.
